Our Thoughts: 2015 was another hot one, represented by one of the earliest picks ever at our vineyard, which is typically a cooler site. As the years keep getting warmer and warmer, our approach is to mitigate the ultra-ripe, boozy, and burly quality you can get from such vintages by picking early to keep those acids in check.

We fermented this wine in a series of small vessels using native yeast that we cultured from the vineyard. The wine was aged in eight barrels, one of which was new, for nine months before bottling by hand, unfiltered and unfined.

Right now in this wine you'll find the scent of spicy rose oil, and bright red fruits like raspberries and currants. The palate is light and ethereal, the way we like our Pinot, with a punch of acidity and crunchy minerality that makes this killer with food. Drink up now, or if you want to see that tautness unwind a bit, enjoy through the next five years or so.
